Once you've customized an Automate365 template, it can be published and managed within the app. This article guides you through understanding where your templates reside within the App and the actions you can take to manage them, focusing on your personal views: "Created by me" and "Shared with me."

New to Automate365 catalogs? Before diving into managing your templates, get a comprehensive overview of all catalog types and their common features in our article: Understanding Template Catalogs.

Access templates

Effectively managing your Automate365 templates is crucial for maintaining control over workspace provisioning and ensuring consistent deployments. This allows you to update, share, and organize your valuable blueprints for future use.

To access your personal and shared templates:

  1. Log in to the BindTuning App.

  2. Navigate to Templates > Created by me or Shared with me.

Once in either catalog, hover your mouse over the template and click the ellipsis (...) to see available actions. The specific actions displayed may vary slightly depending on whether the template is in "Created by me" or "Shared with me," and on your user role and permissions.

Read more below about the common actions you can perform from these catalogs.

Copy a template

This action creates an independent duplicate of an existing template. The copied template is saved as a draft, allowing for further editing and customization before it needs to be published.

Edit a template

This action allows you to directly modify the template's structure, configurations, and included components.

For detailed instructions on how to edit a template, please refer to our dedicated article: Edit a template.

Copy to another workspace

This action enables you to copy the template from the current BindTuning workspace to another BindTuning workspace you have access to.

This feature is particularly useful for organizations running multiple BindTuning environments (e.g., partners running workspaces for multiple customers) or for migrating templates from development to production workspaces.

For detailed instructions on how to copy a template to another workspace, please refer to our dedicated article: Copy a template to another workspace.

Publish/Unpublish a template

Available only for templates in "Created by me" and depending on user permissions for "Shared with me".

This action allows the template creator to control the template's publication status. Its primary function is to manage the visibility and accessibility of the template for self-service catalogs (Company Catalog or SharePoint Catalog).

Typical usage includes updating audience targeting for a specific template to control who can see it or removing an outdated template from wider organizational access.

Delete a template

This action permanently removes the template from the BindTuning App. Before deleting a template, it is crucial to understand the implications. Deleting a template means it is no longer available for provisioning, and any previous sites provisioned with this template will no longer have a reference to it for future updates or management via the BindTuning App.

Caution! This action cannot be reverted.

For a detailed explanation of the implications of deleting a template, please review our article: how this could affect you.
