In Automate365, Connections serve as the essential bridge between your automations and other internal systems. Whether you are automating the provisioning of Microsoft 365 workspaces from a ServiceNow request, using data from SharePoint lists as your dynamic input, or connecting to a bespoke system through an API to trigger provisioning, connections provide the necessary framework for these seamless interactions.
This article will guide you through the different connection types available, explaining how they manage authentication and why they are critical for empowering your automations.
Systems you can connect to
Automate365 supports a variety of connection types to integrate with external systems and expand your automation capabilities. Click the links below for specific integration guides.
Connect with API: Establish connections with unlimited third-party systems using generic API endpoints for automating workspace provisioning.
Connect to Jira: Integrate with Jira to automate Microsoft 365 workspace provisioning based on Issue requests.
Connect to ServiceNow: Connect to ServiceNow to automate Microsoft 365 workspace provisioning directly from service requests or incidents.
Connect to SharePoint: Use data from SharePoint lists and files to drive your automated provisioning processes.
Connection status
The connection status provides immediate insight into the status and health of your integration with an external system.
π’ Connected: The connection is active and validated, allowing automations to access the external system.
π‘ Expires soon: A warning message starts appearing 15 days before expiration. Note that the expiration date cannot always be determined.
π΄ Expired: The connection authorization has expired, and we no longer have access to the external system. Reconnect to restore access.
π΄ Disconnected: The connection is inactive or invalid, preventing automations from accessing the external system. Automations cannot run.
Managing connections
Automate365 provides a dedicated interface to manage the lifecycle of your existing connections. This allows you to maintain your integrations seamlessly and ensure continuous workflow functionality.
Within the connections list, you can:
List connections: View all configured connections and their status.
