Teams Policies in Automate365 allow administrators to define precise settings and features available to users within Teams and channels when new Teams workspaces are provisioned through templates. These policies empower you to create custom experiences for members and guests, aligning Team functionalities with your organizational needs.

These policies are exclusive to Microsoft Teams templates in Automate365.

Understanding Teams Policy controls

Automate365 provides granular control over the following key areas:

1. Member permissions

These settings define the actions that standard team members can take within the Team, influencing their ability to manage channels, applications, and other collaborative elements.

2. Guest permissions

If external collaboration is enabled for your Teams, these settings allow you to define what guests can do for managing channels.

3. Messaging Settings

These policies govern how users and owners interact with messages within channels and chats, affecting content management and communication etiquette.

4. Fun settings

These settings specifically control the availability of more recreational and expressive features within Teams conversations.

Teams Policies can be configured as a reusable policy through the central Policies area in the Automate365 app, or as a template-specific policy directly within the template creation wizard.

With your Teams' functionalities defined, the next critical step is to classify its data. Learn how to automatically apply sensitivity labels to ensure proper data governance and protection from workspace creation.
