This release helps Microsoft 365 administrators prepare their SharePoint environments for the retirement of classic publishing sites and pages, per Microsoft’s latest announcement. New metrics track both the creation of classic sites and the remaining footprint of sites containing classic pages, with recommendations that help administrators prevent further growth and plan a phased transition.
The release also makes the Integrity Score easier to interpret and act on. Metric colors now communicate performance against benchmarks, percentage results use consistent formatting, and Integrity Pillar tags provide clearer context across metrics and recommendations.
Get ready for the transition from classic SharePoint
Microsoft 365 administrators can now monitor the creation of new classic sites and assess the size of their existing classic sites and pages footprint. Together, these metrics provide visibility into both new liabilities and the content that organizations may need to modernize.
Keep new classic sites and pages under control
The new “% of new classic sites created” metric measures how many SharePoint classic sites were created during a rolling 90-day period. Because lower values indicate better performance for this metric, organizations receive a higher score when fewer newly created sites use classic publishing templates. The benchmark considered healthy becomes progressively stricter as the Microsoft transition approaches.
See where classic pages still need attention
The new “% of sites containing classic pages” metric measures the proportion of SharePoint sites that contain at least one classic page. Sites containing classic pages may depend on legacy SharePoint experiences that per Microsoft’s recent announcement will become read-only. Monitoring the remaining footprint helps administrators identify content that must remain editable and prioritize modernization work. The benchmark considered healthy becomes progressively stricter as the Microsoft transition approaches but assumes that some of the existing classic content is expected to remain available for viewing, even when editing is no longer supported.
Plan your move away from classic SharePoint
Both metrics are supported by comprehensive reports that administrators are encouraged to review to determine which content must remain active and/or editable. This gives organizations a practical starting point for reducing their classic footprint and rethinking their site creation processes.
Understand your metric results more easily
See metric health at a glance
Metric colors now represent how far a result is from the benchmark. Previously, metrics inherited their color from their baseline weight on the score and not from the individual customer scoring. This could make a metric’s contribution to the overall score appear to represent its current health. This model helps administrators focus on metrics that require more urgent intervention, improvement, or remediation. When benchmark achievement is close, the metric appears grey and its recommendations are hidden.
Compare percentage results more easily
Ratio-based metrics now display both a percentage and the corresponding value out of the total (X of Y), making results easier to compare. This improves consistency without changing metric formulas, stored results, or benchmark values.
Understand what affects your workspace integrity
Workspace Integrity describes how well a Microsoft 365 environment supports the organization and its users across three dimensions: Operational Integrity, which covers how reliably and efficiently the workspace is managed; Structural Integrity, which focuses on how content and workspaces are organized and governed; and Experiential Integrity, which reflects the consistency and quality of the user experience. Until now, this context was missing from the Integrity Score. Each metric now has one primary integrity dimension, and new filters make it easier to focus on metrics and recommendations related to a specific dimension.
See which integrity dimension each metric affects
Every metric now displays its closest related Integrity dimension, helping administrators understand the type of integrity issue represented by the result.
Focus on the recommendations that matter to you
Administrators can now focus the recommendation list on a specific integrity dimension using the Operational Integrity, Structural Integrity, and Experiential Integrity filters.
This release gives administrators a clearer and more actionable view of Workspace Integrity. Benchmark-based colors, consistent percentage formatting, and Integrity dimensions context make the Integrity Score easier to interpret. The new classic SharePoint metrics support preparation for Microsoft’s transition timeline, while date-aware benchmarks and targeted recommendations help organizations control new dependencies and prioritize their remaining modernization work.
