This release introduces targeted improvements to theme behavior and customization handling, ensuring that user-defined settings (such as Ribbon state, custom CSS, and Focus Mode) behave more predictably and consistently. Special attention has also been given to aligning visual elements and interactions across devices, improving the overall experience in both desktop and mobile contexts.
Improvements
SharePoint Online & SharePoint 2019
Improved “Hide Ribbon” behavior
The Ribbon state (open or closed) now consistently follows the user’s selected preference, avoiding unexpected changes during navigation.
Improved Custom CSS injection management
Enhanced handling of custom styles added through the Developer > Custom CSS option, reducing unnecessary resources created during editing and auto-save operations.
Focus Mode now hides theme elements correctly
Activating Focus Mode now properly removes theme UI elements, allowing users to
fully concentrate on page content.
Fixes
SharePoint Online
[Empower and Invent Themes] Search input could not be opened or used
Fixed an issue where clicking the search icon either did not open the input or immediately closed it, preventing users from typing. The search input now opens and closes as expected.
Search dropdown closing while loading results
When using the option to display results in a popup, the search dropdown would close while results were loading. This has been corrected, ensuring results remain visible without requiring user interaction.
Mobile overlap with SharePoint App Bar
Fixed an issue where the SharePoint App Bar overlapped the theme footer in mobile view, ensuring footer content remains visible.
Editing experience
Horizontal menu settings panel visibility
Fixed an issue where the configuration panel appeared behind the theme header and footer, preventing access to options and action buttons. The panel is now fully visible during editing.
SharePoint Online & SharePoint 2019
[Temple Theme] Header colors not updating on scroll
Fixed an issue where header background and element colors did not properly reflect the configured palette when scrolling. The transition between initial and scrolled states now works as intended.
With this update, theme interactions with SharePoint components and user-defined settings have been refined to reduce friction and eliminate disruptive behaviors, particularly in responsive and editing contexts. These changes help ensure alignment with SharePoint’s native experience while preserving a clean, stable, and intuitive interface.
