This release focuses on security alignment and platform stability. As SharePoint enforces stricter Content Security Policy (CSP) rules, BindTuning Themes have been updated to ensure custom scripts and styles load in a compliant, supported way across SPFx and SharePoint 2019 modern environments.
In addition to this required security work, we’ve made a small number of targeted adjustments to improve visual consistency and usability. These changes are about keeping the experience predictable and clean, especially in areas where theme customizations interact closely with SharePoint’s native UI.
Security & Compliance Update
SharePoint Online & SharePoint 2019 - Modern
Content Security Policy (CSP) compliance
In alignment with Microsoft’s enforcement of Content Security Policy (CSP) for SharePoint Online, we have updated how custom JavaScript and CSS are loaded by our Themes. This ensures SharePoint Modern Themes (SPFx and SP 2019) remain compatible as SharePoint blocks inline scripts and non‑trusted sources, aligning with Microsoft’s supported security model for both SPFx and SharePoint 2019 modern.
Updating to this release before March 1, 2026 is a required first step to maintain functionality, security, and compatibility once CSP moves from reporting mode to enforcement. However, installing the updated version alone is not sufficient.
To ensure continued operation of BindTuning products after CSP enforcement, additional configuration steps must be completed at the tenant and site level. These required actions are described in detail in our step-by-step guide.
Fixes
SharePoint 2019 - Modern
Correct layout behavior when hiding native search and sidebar
Site Contents pages in modern team sites now render correctly when Hide native search and Hide sidebar are used together. UI elements no longer overlap the search icon, eliminating visual conflicts in this configuration.
Readable hover states in Quick Edit mode
List item hover backgrounds in Quick Edit mode now use a lighter transparency. This ensures text remains readable and visually balanced, especially when using darker theme palettes.
With this update, BindTuning Modern Themes stay aligned with SharePoint’s evolving security model while maintaining a stable, predictable visual experience. Addressing CSP compliance now helps avoid future disruptions and ensures your theme customizations remain supported as enforcement tightens.
The remaining improvements reflect our ongoing attention to detail—small changes that reduce friction and keep SharePoint’s modern UI feeling polished and dependable. We’ll continue investing in this kind of foundational work so your themes remain resilient as the platform moves forward.
