Delete a template

Deleting a template in Automate365 allows users to permanently remove a template from their workspace. This action removes the template from all associated catalogs and prevents its further use for workspace provisioning.

Caution! This action cannot be reverted.

Deleted templates cannot be recovered. This action is final and permanent.


How to delete a template

  1. Log in to the BindTuning App.

  2. Navigate to Templates > Created by me.

  3. Mouse over the template card you wish to delete and click the ellipsis (...) icon to reveal the actions menu.

  4. Select "Delete".

  5. Confirm the deletion when prompted.


Considerations before deleting a template

When initiating a template deletion, it is crucial to understand the following implications:

  • Deleted templates cannot be recovered. This action is final and irreversible.

  • Templates that have been published in self-service catalogs will automatically disappear from those catalogs upon deletion. (Company Catalog and SharePoint).

  • If the deleted template is referenced in an existing Automate365 Automation, that flow will stop working when attempting to provision a workspace using the now-missing template.

  • For automations using scheduled or event-driven triggers, they will continue to execute but will not yield any new workspace provisioning results if they rely on a deleted template.

When deleting templates used in Automations: The automation workflow will require an update to reference a new or different template for it to work again.
