Template-specific policies provide granular control, allowing you to define unique governance rules directly within a single Automate365 template. This article guides you through the process of managing your template-specific policies.

Access your Policies

To manage a policy that is exclusive to a specific template, you need to access that template's editing interface:

  1. Log in to the BindTuning App.

  2. In the left-hand navigation, click on Templates > Created by me.

  3. Hover your mouse over the desired template you wish to edit. Click "Edit Draft".

  4. Within the template editing wizard, use the left-hand navigation to go to the specific Policy section you want to manage (e.g., Naming Conventions, Blocked Words, Sensitivity Labels, Membership, ...).

Edit a Policy

You can directly modify the existing settings of your template-specific policy.

  • Within the policy configuration area, make any desired changes to the rules, options, or values.

No further action is needed for the policy itself at this stage; the template-specific policy will be saved automatically when you finalize and save the template draft. Once the template is published and used, this policy will be automatically applied to all new workspaces provisioned using it.

Switch to a reusable Policy

If you initially created a policy unique to this template but now have a suitable reusable policy that covers the same governance area, you can switch the template to use the reusable one instead.

  • Within the policy configuration area, look for the dropdown at the top of the screen for selecting pre-saved policies.

  • Choose the desired reusable policy from the list.

  • Save the template.
