IMPORTANT: This release is only available for Accessibility Tool v1.0.1.3.

These changes are available for Office 365 classic and modern environment and SharePoint 2019 classic environment. These changes are still in development for SharePoint 2019 modern environment.

New Features

  • The Accessibility Tool now offers the ability to set language preferences, significantly broadening its reach. In addition to English, users can now utilize the tool in French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese.

    • The text-to-speech functionality will now automatically use a voice corresponding to the selected language, assuming browser support. If not, it will default to the browser's original voice.

    • Essential accessibility elements, including Aria-labels and buttons, are now translated into these five supported languages.

  • Administrators now have the powerful ability to create a custom user property that allows users to retain their preferred accessibility settings across every part of the tenant they have permission to access.

    • Users will no longer need to repeatedly activate the same accessibility settings, as their preferences will persist regardless of the browser or computer they use.

Improvements

  • The arrow navigation functionality has been updated to fully support the new Language Selection feature within the Accessibility Tool. This improvement ensures that users relying on keyboard navigation can seamlessly and intuitively navigate through the language options, further boosting the tool's accessibility.
