Experiencing persistent expiration banners on your SharePoint intranet even after renewing your BindTuning subscription? The steps below explain how to remove these messages depending on your license type: Key-based or CDN-based.
Before proceeding, if you renewed via a Purchase Order (PO), the renewal is only valid for 30 days. Banners will be shown again after that period.
Key-based licenses
If your BindTuning subscription uses a Key-Based license, you'll see a banner with an "Insert License Key" button. Clicking this button will open a small window where you can paste your license key as shown below:
How to remove the banner
Click the "Insert License Key" button on the banner. A new window will pop up.
Paste your new license key into the pop-up window.
The banner should disappear automatically.
Note: For detailed instructions on where to add your license key, please refer to our article on Activate (or renew) your Intranet license key.
CDN-based licenses
IMPORTANT: We highly recommend updating your product to the key-based license for a more streamlined experience and improved security.
For customers with licenses that rely on our CDN (older versions of banners), the expiration messages will appear differently for themes and web parts.
Theme expiration messages
A red banner will appear at the top of your SharePoint intranet page if your BindTuning theme subscription has expired.
Web Part expiration messages (grey)
Similar to theme expiration alerts, a grey banner will appear at the top of each BindTuning Web Part container when its subscription has expired.
How to remove the banner
After renewing your subscription (for either themes or web parts), click the refresh option provided on the banner.
The banner should disappear automatically.
If the message persists, go to the next section, Troubleshooting CDN banners
